After you have read Idena introduction and have successfully created your Idena account now we're gonna explain what validation is, what are flips, so you are best prepared for validation so you can pass it successfully.
Validation is a simple and very fun test that is held once in 20 days at a specific time. To become a part of the Idena network you need to pass validation. See how does, live validation recorded by one Idena member, looks like and how to solve flips.
Let's explain in a little more detail what is what.
A flip is a story made from a 4 images in a row. Flip explains a story that happened. Flip has two sides, two stories, one logical and the other illogical. To solve the flip, you need to recognize which side contains the logical story and select it. Let's look at a few examples, look at the flips below.
Can you identify which side contains the logical story? Left or right?
The correct answer is left:
- The man is bored
- He remembered something
- He will take a gaming VR set to play in virtual reality
- He is playing
If we try to connect the story on the right:
- A man is playing
- He's bored
- Virtual reality game set
- He remembered something
This story on the right makes much less sense than the one on the left. Man's ability to recognize a logical story in this way puts him at a great advantage over a robot or artificial intelligence that cannot connect images into a logical story. With this ability, you prove that you are a human being, and gain right to be a member of the Idena network and you are rewarded with Idena coins.
Can you identify which side contains the logical story? Left or right?
Let's check out left side:
- Someone is lighting a candle
- Funeral
- A crashed car
- The man is driving
Correct answer is on the right:
- The man is driving
- A crashed car
- Funeral
- Someone is lighting a candle at the funeral
Can you identify which side contains the logical story? Left or right?
Correct answer is on the left:
- A man comes to the beach
- Putting on diving equipment
- Jumps into the water
- Diving
Right side does not make sense:
- Jumps into the water
- A man comes to the beach
- Diving
- Putting on diving equipment
Can you identify which side contains the logical story? Left or right?
Let's check story:
- Injured hand
- A child rides a bicycle
- Hand with a band-aid
- The child fell off the bike
Right side makes more sense:
- A child rides a bicycle
- The child fell off the bike
- Injured hand
- Hand with a band-aid
When validation begins, a short session lasting 1 minute and 45 seconds begins first. You have that much time to solve 6 flips. You need to solve them fast. If you get a complicated flip in these first six, don't dwell on one flip for more than 10 seconds, skip it, solve the others, and after you have solved the easier ones, return to complicated and choose the side that is most logical for you.
Since flips are made by people from all around the world, of different ages, you can get some really weird flips that won't make much sense to you. Not everyone can think of and make a good flip that is easy and logical to solve.
Do not press the "Next" button until you have answered all 6 flips. Your percentage result is formed from a short session flip solving, the percentage of success is important because it later determines whether you will get the opportunity to make invitations.
After the end of the short session, a long session begins which lasts 30 minutes in which you solve 15 to 25 flips. You don't have to hurry so much here and you can do the rest of the session in a relaxed way. A long session consists of 2 parts.
In the first part, you solve the flips similar to the short session, you choose left or right in relation to which side is logical for you in the flip.
In the second part of the long session, you check and evaluate the quality of the flips. Beside a flip, you will see the words that the member had to use to make the flip story.
In the example of the flip shown above, we must decide, "Does flip story has relevance with both words that are presented?".
Words are: Doctor and LightIn this flip we see a story where a child walks and then falls, goes to the hospital and the doctor examines his mouth with some light. We have both words in the flip, both doctor and light.
✅ Both keywords were used when making the flip story.
✅ The flip is logical, it can be easily solved.
✅ The flip does not contain any letters or words that reveal the flip keywords or are neded to explain story. So this flip is internationly understood.
In case in which flip:
❌ Does not contain both keywords
❌ In case it is illogical or difficult to solve
❌ In case it contains words that you have to read and understand so the story is clear to you
We have to report such a flip, evaluate it as a bad flip, by pressing the "Report" button. For each flip you report as bad, if other members of the Idena network agree with your decision that the flip is bad, you will receive an additional reward for reporting the flip as bad and helping the network.
In a short session, we all give answers to the flips we were given to solve. After we have given our answers, no one still knows the exact answer to them. The purpose of a long session is for us to represent the committee that makes the decision about the flips from the short session. After we respond to the flips in a long session and assess whether they are good or should be reported, the network counts the responses. A decision is made about the correct answers for the flips and whether they are relevant or reported.
The consensus of the flip can be: Strong, Weak, Nonexistent.
- What does strong consensus mean? This means that the flip was easy to solve and that most members decided the same, either left or right.
- Weak consensus has a flip to which members answered mostly for one side (left or right) but again, there are plenty of answers for the other side. So this flip was not clear and easy for everyone to solve.
- The nonexistent consensus has a flip that was totally illogical and half of the members voted for the left and half for the right. In short, member who made this flip has not done a great job.
The second aspect of flip rating is whether more than half of the members rated the flip as bad / irrelevant.
If a flip is rated as irrelevant or bad, the member who made this flip will not receive any reward from the validation or flips he created. Although maybe only one of the 3 flips he made is reported. He loses the potential prize for all 3 flips, potential prize from invitations and the prize for the validation itself.
Having that in mind, it is very important when you start creating flips, try to make them well, so that they are not reported and you are left without all potential rewards.
Visit this page for flip solving practice. It's not a validation simulation, validation doesn't look like that, it's just there to help you practice solving flips. In the first field, enter anything, name, email, it is absolutely irrelevant.
